Sûrat al-A’lâ

(Revealed at Makkah)
*** |
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
*** |
سَبِّحِ اسۡمَ رَبِّكَ الۡاَعۡلَىۙ ﴿۱ ﴾
1. Sabbihis-ma Rabbikal A’laa.
1. Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High,
*** |
الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَ فَسَوّٰى ۙ﴿۲﴾
2. Allazee khalaqa fasaw waa.
2. Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion;
*** |
وَالَّذِىۡ قَدَّرَ فَهَدٰى ۙ ﴿۳ ﴾
3. Wallazee qaddara fahadaa.
3. Who hath measured. And granted guidance;
*** |
وَالَّذِىۡۤ اَخۡرَجَ الۡمَرۡعٰى ﴿۴ ﴾
4.Wallazeee akhrajal-mar’aa.
4. And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture,
*** |
فَجَعَلَهٗ غُثَآءً اَحۡوٰىؕ ﴿۵ ﴾
5. Faja’alahoo ghusaaa’an ahwaa.
5. And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble.
*** |
سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنۡسٰٓىۙ ﴿۶ ﴾
6. Sanuqri’uka falaa tansaaa.
6. By degrees shall We teach thee (the Message), so thou shalt not forget,
*** |
اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللّٰهُؕ اِنَّهٗ يَعۡلَمُ الۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفٰىؕ ﴿۷ ﴾
7. Illaa maa shaaa’al-laah; innahoo yaʼlamul-jahra wa maa yakhfaa.
7. Except as Allah wills: for He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden.
*** |
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرٰى ۖۚ ﴿۸ ﴾
8. Wa nu-yassiruka lilyusraa.
8. And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path).
*** |
فَذَكِّرۡ اِنۡ نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكۡرٰىؕ ﴿۹ ﴾
9. Fazakkir in nafa’atiz zikraa.
9. Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer).
*** |
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنۡ يَّخۡشٰىۙ ﴿۱۰ ﴾
10. Sa-yazzakkaru maňy yakhshaa.
10. He will heed who fears:
*** |
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الۡاَشۡقَىۙ ﴿۱۱ ﴾
11. Wa yata-jannabuhal ashqaa.
11. But it will be avoided by the most unfortunate one,
*** |
الَّذِىۡ يَصۡلَى النَّارَ الۡكُبۡرٰىۚ ﴿۱۲ ﴾
12. Allazee yaşlan-Naaral kubraa.
12. Who will enter the Great Fire,
*** |
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوۡتُ فِيۡهَا وَلَا يَحۡيٰىؕ ﴿۱۳ ﴾
13. Summa laa yamootu fehaa wa laa yahyaa.
13. In which he will then neither die nor live.
*** |
قَدۡ اَفۡلَحَ مَنۡ تَزَكّٰىۙ ﴿۱۴ ﴾
14. Qad aflaha man tazakkaa.
14. But he will prosper who purifies himself.
*** |
وَذَكَرَ اسۡمَ رَبِّهٖ فَصَلّٰى ؕ ﴿۱۵ ﴾
15. Wa zakaras-ma Rabbihee faşallaa.
15. And remembers the name of his Guardian-Lord, and prays.
*** |
بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُوۡنَ الۡحَيٰوةَ الدُّنۡيَا ﴿۱۶ ﴾
16. Bal tu’siroonal-hayaa tad-dunyaa.
16. Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world;
*** |
وَالۡاٰخِرَةُ خَيۡرٌ وَّ اَبۡقٰىؕ ﴿۱۷ ﴾
17. Wal-Aakhiratu khayrunw wa abqaa.
17. But the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
*** |
اِنَّ هٰذَا لَفِىۡ الصُّحُفِ الۡاُوۡلٰىۙ ﴿۱۸ ﴾
18. Inna haazaa lafiş-Suhu fil-oolaa.
18. And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelations),
*** |
صُحُفِ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَمُوۡسٰى ﴿۱۹ ﴾
19. Şuhufi Ibraaheema wa Moosaa.
19. The Books of Abraham and Moses.
*** |
