Sûrah al-Qadr-97 (Revealed at Makkah)
سورة الـقدر
Al-Qadr, or The Night of Power (or Honour)
| *** |
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
| *** |
1. Innaaa anzalnaahu fee Laylatil-Qadr.
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
(VERSE NO1). We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:

2. Wa maaa adraaka maa Laylatul-Qadr.
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ
(VERSE NO2). And what will explain to thee what the Night of Power is?

3. Laylatul-Qadri khayrum min alfi shahr.
لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
(VERSE NO3). The Night of Power is better than a thousand Months.

4. Tanazzalul-malaaa’ikatu war-Roohu feehaa bi-izni Rabbihim min kulli amr.
تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
(VERSE NO4). Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah’s permission, on every errand:

5. Salaamun hiya hattaa mațla’il-Fajr.
سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ
(VERSE NO5). Peace! . . .This until the rise of Morn!
