Surah Qâriah – 101 (Revealed at Makkah).

سورة الـقارعـة

Al-Qari’a, or The Day of Clamour.

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

 In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1.Al-qaari’ah. 

الْقَارِعَةُ

(VERSE NO1). The (Day) of Clamour:

2.Mal-qaari’ah.

مَا الْقَارِعَةُ

(VERSE NO2). What is the (Day) of Clamour?

3.Wa maaa adraaka mal qaari’ah.

 وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ

(VERSE NO3).And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Clamour is?

4. Yawma yakoonun-naasu kalfaraashil-mabsoos.

 يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ

(VERSE NO4). (It is) a Day whereon Men will be like moths scattered about.

5. Wa takoonul-jibaalu kal ‘ihnil-manfoosh.

وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنفُوشِ

(VERSE NO5). And the mountains will be like carded wool.

6. Fa-ammaa man saqulat mawaazeenuh.

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ

(VERSE NO6). Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy,

7. Fahuwa fee ‘eeshatir raaḍiyah.

 فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ

(VERSE NO7). Will be in a Life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

8. Wa ammaa man khaffat mawaazeenuh.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ

(VERSE NO8). But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light, 

9. Fa-ummuhoo haawiyah.

 فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ 

(VERSE NO9). Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit.

10. Wa maaa adraaka maa hiyah.

 وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ 

(VERSE NO10). And what will explain to thee what this is?

11. Naarun haamiyah.

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ 

(VERSE NO11). (It is) a Fire blazing fiercely!
