Surah al Maun – 107 (Revealed at Makkah).
سورة الماعون
Al-Ma’ûn or Neighbourly Needs.
| *** |
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
| *** |
1. Ara’aytal-lazee yukaz zibu biddeen.
اَرَءَيۡتَ الَّذِىۡ يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّيۡنِؕ
(VERSE NO1). Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come) ?
| *** |
2. Fazaalikal-lazee yadu’ ‘ul-yateem.
فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِىۡ يَدُعُّ الۡيَتِيۡمَۙ
(VERSE NO2). Then such is the one who repulses the orphan,
| *** |
3. Wa laa yabuddu ‘alaa ta’aamil-miskeen.
وَ لَا يَحُضُّ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الۡمِسۡكِيۡنِؕ
(VERSE NO3). And encourages not the feeding of the indigent.
| *** |
4. Fa-waylul-lil-muşalleen.
فَوَيۡلٌ لِّلۡمُصَلِّيۡنَۙ
(VERSE NO4). So woe to the worshippers
| *** |
5. Allazeena hum *an Salaa ti him saahoon.
الَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ عَنۡ صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُوۡنَۙ
(VERSE NO5). Who are neglectful of their Prayers,
| *** |
6. Allazeena hum yuraaa ‘oon.
الَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُوۡنَۙ
(VERSE NO6). Those who (want but) to be seen,
| *** |
7. Wa yamna’oonal-maa’oon.
وَيَمۡنَعُوۡنَ الۡمَاعُوۡنَ
(VERSE NO7). But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs.
